Position Overview

Are you passionate about juvenile justice, rehabilitation, and social work? Youth Outreach Services (YOS) is seeking dedicated Juvenile Justice Interns to support youth in our Redeploy Hub Program, an alternative to the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice.

As an intern, you will work closely with Family Team Facilitators and Juvenile Justice Counselors to provide intensive outpatient support for youth in the program. The Redeploy Hub operates daily from 9 AM - 9 PM, offering services like:
βœ… Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
βœ… Mentoring & Positive Youth Development Activities
βœ… Recreational & Vocational Programming
βœ… Family Engagement & Wraparound Support

This role provides hands-on experience in juvenile justice programming, case management, and community-based interventions to help youth successfully transition back into their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Youth Services: Assist in group counseling sessions and lead pro-social activities for youth.
  • Intake & Case Management: Complete intake assessments, case notes, and progress reports while communicating with Court Coordinators.
  • Facilitate Groups: Lead or co-lead weekly group sessions using program curriculum.
  • Community Engagement: Research and connect youth to local resources and services that support their rehabilitation.
  • Family Involvement: Meet with families at least once a month per client to provide updates and coordinate support.

Qualifications
