Location: Chicago- Austin Office

Schedule:  Mon-Thurs 12p-8p; Fri 9a-5p. Some Saturdays are needed.

Position Overview:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth? Join Youth Outreach Services as a Workforce Development Specialist and help at-risk youth build their futures through career exploration, skill development, and meaningful employment opportunities.

About the Role:
In this role, you’ll develop partnerships with businesses, provide career counseling, and empower youth to overcome barriers to employment. You’ll play a key role in the Illinois Youth Investment Program (IYIP), which focuses on supporting transition-age youth in securing sustainable, long-term employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with businesses and community organizations to create job placement opportunities.
  • Provide case management and career counseling to program participants.
  • Organize employment-related events and activities to enhance youth engagement.
  • Develop action plans tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and confidential case files.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and attend regular meetings.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience working with at-risk youth and workforce development.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Requirements: Valid Illinois driver’s license, access to an insured vehicle, and a clear driving record.
