Position Overview

Are you a master ’s-level student in counseling or social work looking for real-world experience? Youth Outreach Services (YOS) is seeking Counseling Interns to support youth ages 12-21 dealing with mental health and substance use challenges.

As a Counseling Intern, you will:

βœ… Provide weekly individual counseling sessions to assist youth with mental health or substance use issues.
βœ… Complete intake assessments and maintain accurate client progress notes.
βœ… Use the 7 Challenges Program to guide youth through decision-making regarding drug and alcohol use.
βœ… Communicate with referral sources (courts, probation officers, schools, hospitals, etc.).
βœ… Conduct group and family counseling sessions and participate in home or school visits as needed.

This internship offers hands-on experience in individual and group therapy, case management, and treatment planning.
